Is my husband alive? - Miami, Florida M, Jun 3, 02
On the morning of September 11th, my husband had taken a routine flight to Newark, NJ. During the time of the of the attacks my husband's plane was in the air and the reports had not yet specified where the planes had departed from. I frantically called him on his cell phone but was unable to communicate with him. After an hour of uncertainty, I finally heard his voice and broke down. I can't even imagine what the families of the victims went through during those hours of uncertainty. I look back on that day and I can still feel how lost I felt. My hearts and prayers will always be with those families. Gob Bless us all.

It got to be a James Bond movies - Dallas, Tx USA F, May 31, 02
I was just getting of my English class that Tuesday morning about 9.15 O clock AM heading towards home, when I heard the news on the radio. At first, I thought it was part of the job joke the radio broadcaster usually tells on air whenever I listen to it. But this un-forgetful Tuesday morning was totally different. As I got home at 9.20AM, the second plane had just hit the second World Trade Center and then was when I realize that what I had heard wasn't a joke at all. I was totally speechless and at the same time hoping that it isn't real but one of the James Bond movies or one of the science friction movies we normally watch on TV , but again I was wrong all I was when I tuned to all the station and they all have the same movie going on at the same time. Then I realize how real it was. Felt like crying, but that won't help any of the situations. We have all witnessed the most horrible, evil, despicable, and murderous act on America that has ever happened in our nation's great history. As long as I live, I will never forget that day, the longest day this country has ever known

it was about 9:50 and my teacher told my class 2 highjacked planes hit the wtc and i thought W-A-R and it turned out to be that way so the rest of the day was a struggle but when i got to my grandpas i waths the news and again and again wathing those planes coming and hitting the wtc and people running and jumping from the buildings so many people crying because of their loved ones gone gone foever I just wanted to burst in tears what they did to america they teared us apart

I was sitting at my desk at work in Birmingham, AL, just logging onto my computer. One of my coworkers arrived at at approximately 8:30 a.m. Central time and informed me that she had heard on her car radio that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center and that terrorism was suspected. Another coworker quickly dismissed the probability of a terrorist attach and everyone around me began logging onto CNN and MSNBC to find out what was going on. Within two hours my company had TVs setup in various break rooms and we were watching with horror the events of 9-11. Parents were concerned for their children in the local public schools. Everyone was worried about friends and family in New York, and many of us were concerned about our Manhattan office. It was a day of horror and extreme sadness. It was a day that I will never forget.

I was about to walk out of the door.Then i decicded to turn on the new.I did and I was watching it and then another thing poped up and said "SPECIAL BULITAN" World Trade Centers Have either been hit by planes or something blew up.Then I went to school.Our school is really lil.And I stayed in for recess with my best friend and brought a tv into the room and went on my teachers computer.I think Bin Ladden should be taken and be tourchered.We should bring him to a slow and PAINFULL.Death.

On the morning of September 11, I was just waking up that morning, when my son who is 3 yrs old came into the bedroom and said "Mom the hotels fell down" at that time the t.v. was not on or the radio. And I asked him what hotels son. I turned on the T.V. to see if there was anything on the news. And at that moment I saw what my son had been talking about. I saw the first tower go down. But then I thought to myself how did he know that they were going to collapse, because the t.v. was not on at the time. They say that small kids can sence things when they are small. So that is what I was doing on Sept. 11. It really hurt so much. Even though I did not know any of those people lost in the planes it still made me cry. I' am from Acoma New Mexico (a pueblo indian). We pray for things not to happen like this in the world to anyone. I pray for the families that have lost their loved ones as well. Thank you for your time for reading my story.

I was in Bed, not having to go to work that morning, So my mother knocked on my door telling me to get up, so finally she came in my room and told me to go into the living room because a plane had crashed into one of the towers. I layed my head back down into my pillow when i visioned it in my mind. I awoke and saw the first tower filled with smoke on Cnn. I couldnt believe it. I thought it was an accident, so i went up to the Roof of my house where we can clearly see the skyline of Manhattan, and my heart started pounding as i saw the next plane create a huge fireball into the south Tower, I was speachless, and in horror. As i saw the towers collapse, my heart fell with it and all the familes who lost their loved ones. I will never forget what i saw that day and never forget what happened to New York City and the United States. My God Bless all the families and the World.

Why I think I Am the Luckiest Person In The World - New Jersey T, May 21, 02
I was a regular day. I got up,and went to school. Before you know it i was in my fourth peropd class (which is computers) when my teacher said that two planes had just crashed in WTC! At first I thought it was no big deal, but then I relized that my father worked there. I got up right away, and said to my teacher that I wanted to call my dad to see if he was alright. While I dialed the number my heart beated faster and faster, hoping that he was alright. He didn't answer the phone! That got me even more worried. But finally he called back. He explained that he was on his way to work and his boss asked him to pick something up at the shop. When he was in the store there was a t.v. set and he sas that was where he was soposed to be. He also told me thanks to his boss if he didn't ask him to get something. He would of been on the 98th floor! That's why i think i am the luckiest person on the World!! Don't you?

I had woken up at 6:30 like evry other day to go to school. At about 7:15 i got a phone call from my friend saying she wouldnt be going to school that day but her mother would still be able to drive me. That morning was just like any other day. I got to school at about 7:50 and went to my classes as i do everyday. When i got to my fourth class i sat down to take a test. One girl knocked on the door and said she needed to take her sister home because something has just happened to the world trade center. Alot of times kids make things out to be bigger then they really are, so i though nothing of it and thought the girl just wanted to get out of the test. So i finished my test and when the bell rang i left me class to see one of my friends almost in tears. I asked her what was wrong she told me that two planes had just into the world trade center and her father works int he port authority underneath the wtc, and she needed to find her brother because her mother was comming to pick her up. I started to get a little worried but still nothing registered in my head. When i got down to the lobby of my school it was kaos there were at least 150 parents and school aids packed into one little room and the princliple on a microphone telling everone to stay calm and that every student would be relased. After i seen how everyone else was reacting i knew something was terribly wrong. I started to cry and just wanted to get home to my mother. I tryed thinking if i knew anyone in the wtc but at that [oint i couldnt think staright. I remeber walking up the stairs and my friend ask one of the tecahers do i need a pass to be walking the hallways? A fireman was standing there and turned to us and said "do you think you need a pass?, so you even know how much trouble where in?" I just looked the other way and tryed to get out of the building as fast as fast as i could. I finally made it home but only to hear that my uncle was 3 blocks awya and no one had heard form him yet. Luckily he came home that night and was okay just had seen some pretty horrible stuff, but was okay. And my friends father also got home that night.

I was in English while the World Trade Centers fell down, yet that is very early. They were talking about everything and I had no clue what was going on. Actually I had no clue there was two World Trade Centers until the news that morning. It was actually terrifing to even think about it. I mean how would you feel if you lost a love won the bombings. You know it is kind of scary just to think that other terrorists could come to your neighborhood let alone your city. As a matter of fact alot of people were involved with serious insidents.

I was safe at home - U.S.A W, May 8, 02
I was up unusually so at the time of the crashes in disbeleif I watched in horror. I am from a small town and had never even heard of the twin towers before ( crazy how they stay in your mind now) I watched as the 2nd plane hit I cried not knowing how many If any people had survived.
When I saw them fall it WAS like a movie at first until reality broke its way through. One spacific memory haunts me as the towers fell I seen one of many people running from the debris it was a rescue worker there was a close up of him as he ran to the side of a building. I have never seen this again and i worry that maybe he to perished in the outlandish act. All I remember is that he had on a yellow hard hat. I pray he made it home safe if not to his children and wife (if none) then to his animals waing at homw for him... May sould small but the nightmares haunt me still. To all who watched in horror being able to do nothing I feel your pain. To all who lost loved ones I hold your sorrow gently in the palm of my hand for there is nothing I can do to stop your pain just carress it in my palms and pray. My tears fall like rain and I thank GOD for small towns.

The Saddest Day of My Life - Staten Island F, May 3, 02
I was in front of WTC when it fell to the ground. I heard both planes go into the towers with a loud BOOM. I was at Murray Street at the time. Both towers were on fire when it happened. I had to walk over the Manhattan Bridge because I live in Staten Island, the police had to direct us to the bridges. I walked with my friend Linton all the way to Crown Heights,Brooklyn. I left his house with train service was restored. It was a very horrible day. I was in the Co-op program at the time. My mom was worried because she thought I was working, but I had a Doctors appointment. It was truly a scary moment because I thought I was going to die.

MY DAUGTHER TARA IS IN THE 5 GRADE AT SOUTHVEIW AND SHE GOT ALOT OF HER RIBBONS TOGETHER AND STARTED MAKING THINGS TO SELL AND SHE DIDN'T KEEP ANY OF THE MONEY SHE TOLD THAT SHE SEND IT TO ALL THE PEOPLE FAMILIES IN NEW YORK THAT LOST THERE LOVE ONES THERE.
